Golfspedia connects homeowners who want a residential golf simulator with installers who cover their area. This policy explains what we collect when you use this site, why we collect it, and who we share it with. It applies to golfspedia.com and every page on it, including the questionnaire at /form-step/.
Everything in the questionnaire. That is: the room you plan to use and its ceiling height, whether you own or rent, your ZIP code, your launch monitor, enclosure and finish preferences, whether you want a professional install, your budget band, your timeline, whether you are interested in financing, any notes you add, and your name, email address and phone number.
You are not required to give us any of it.
If you start the questionnaire and do not finish it, we still receive the answers you gave before you stopped — the room, the ceiling height, the ZIP code, the budget band and so on — along with which question you stopped on. We use that to see where the questionnaire loses people and to fix it.
We also receive your email address as soon as you enter it, which happens partway through the questionnaire rather than at the end. If you stop after that point, we still have it. In that situation we may email you about the enquiry you started, and you can unsubscribe from any such email. We will not call or text you, and we willnot pass your details to an installer — you have not agreed to be contacted that way, and that agreement is only given on the final screen.
We do not receive your name or phone number unless you reach the final screen and submit.
When you tick the consent box we record the exact wording you agreed to, the time you agreed, your IP address and your user agent. On the questionnaire page we may also use TrustedForm, a service operated by ActiveProspect, which creates an independent record of your visit and your consent. That record is evidence of what you agreed to and is retained for that purpose. ActiveProspect's own privacy practices are described atactiveprospect.com/privacy-policy.
One installer. Your details go to a single installer covering your area, not to a list of companies, and not to a bidding pool. That is the arrangement, and it is the reason the questionnaire asks what it asks.
We also use service providers who process data on our behalf — our hosting provider, our database provider, our lead-delivery platform, our customer relationship system, and the analytics and advertising services named below. They may only use the data to provide those services to us.
Enquiries and unfinished questionnaires are stored in a database we control, hosted by Cloudflare in the United States, and are readable only by us. Sharing your details with an installer is a separate step and happens only when you complete the questionnaire.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing information with advertising platforms for measurement may qualify as a “sale” or “sharing” under some state privacy laws; see Your choices below for how to opt out.
By submitting the questionnaire you agree that Golfspedia and one matched installer may contact you by phone, text and email about your project, including by automated means. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to a text, telling the caller you want no further contact, or emailing us at the address below.
We store one item in your browser: your progress through the questionnaire, under the keygsFormState. It exists so an accidental refresh does not throw away answers you have already given. It expires after 24 hours, it is discarded when you arrive from a new advertisement, and the form works normally if your browser blocks it.
On the questionnaire page, on the guide page some advertisements link to, and on the confirmation page you reach after submitting it, we may run Google Tag Manager and the Meta pixel to measure advertising performance. The confirmation page's address carries a random reference number for the submission you just made, so the same submission is not counted twice; it identifies the enquiry, not you. We may also send Meta a server-side copy of the same conversion, so that a browser extension or privacy setting which blocks the tag does not simply lose the record. That copy contains your email address, phone number, name and postcode in hashed form — scrambled with a one-way function so Meta can match you against an account it already has, but cannot read the underlying details from what we send — together with your IP address and browser user agent. It carries nothing about how your enquiry was scored. If you would prefer we did not send it, email us at the address below and we will exclude you. These tags set their own cookies and identifiers, governed byGoogle's privacy policyandMeta's privacy policy. Every other page on this site — including the home page, our research and cost articles, this policy and our terms — carries no advertising tags at all.
On the questionnaire and the guide, but not the confirmation page, we also use Microsoft Clarity to understand how those pages are actually used. It records how far you scroll, where you click and tap, and how your pointer moves, and it can replay that activity so we can see where a page is confusing or broken. We use it to improve the pages. It plays no part in how your enquiry is handled, scored, or priced.
Clarity does not record what you type into a form. Your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code and any notes you write are masked in your browser before the recording is sent, so they do not appear in a replay. Clarity sets its own cookies and identifiers, governed byMicrosoft's privacy statement. A browser or extension that blocks analytics scripts stops it, and the questionnaire works normally without it. If you would rather not be recorded at all, email us at the address below.
Email privacy@golfspedia.com to exercise any of these. We will verify your identity before acting on a request about a specific record.
We keep enquiry and consent records for as long as we need them to run the service and to answer a challenge about consent, and then we delete them. Unfinished questionnaires are kept only long enough to understand where the questionnaire loses people. If you ask us to delete your information we will do so except where we are required to keep it.
This site is for homeowners and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than made silently.
